Sounds like a bad week to be 69.
But seriously, a damn shame. Rest in peace.

He’ll always be Hans Gruber to me.

Oh no! Just as with David Bowie, I had no idea he was even sick. I loved him in Die Hard and in Sense and Sensibility (two very different roles that he performed masterfully). Such a great loss.

This was the first thing that i saw when i woke up. So sad. I always hated the character. But alan played him INCREDIBL. Well. Total shame that he died.
Also, i would have loved a GPS voiced by him “your father would have also missed that turn. Turn around and go back potter”

The last 3 books really did show he was one the main protagonists

That’s because he was. In a similar way that Sam Gamgee is the real hero of Lord of the Rings, not Frodo.

This has been such a shitty week. Bits of my childhood keep dying.

I feel a bit foolish saying this as a 32-year-old guy, but when I saw the headline it actually took my breath away a little bit.
My wife got me into the HP books/movies when we were first married and I was instantly hooked.
What an awful shame.

Man, we spent so much time hating him to only find out how true and great he really was.
